MIB Screen Ink (2-pack overprint ink for MIR Mirror Ink)
Teikoku MIB Ink is an exclusive overprint ink for MIR Mirror Ink. MIB ink protects Mirror ink on PC from scratches and tarnishing. When used in combination with the Mirror ink series, provides superior opacity and mirror finish like hot stamping film. Suitable for printing on PC and treated PET. Display panels of home electronic appliances and membrane switches are appropriate applications.
Application & Substrate
♦ Overprint ink for Mirror ink layer printed on PC.
Special Features
♦ Protects Mirror Ink layer from scratching without harming the mirror effect.
♦ Improves the brightness of Mirror ink.
♦ Enhances the resistance of Mirror ink.
Thinning, Cleaning
♦ Use F-002 or F-003 thinners with 10-20% dilution.
♦ Avoid using other solvents as it may decrease mirror effect and cause lack of adhesion.
♦ “Screen Cleaner N” is recommended to clean the stencil.
Catalyst
♦ Mix 1 part 240 Catalyst with 10 parts MIB Ink before printing and mix well.
♦ Pot life of ink after mixed with catalyst is about 3-4 hours.
Printing
♦ Stir well before every use.
♦ Printing Conditions for MIB ink series is as follows:
Stencil: T-250 - T300 mesh
Catalyst: 240 Catalyst, 10% Addition
Dilution: F-002 or F-003 thinner, 10-20% dilution
Drying: more than 30 minutes at 80°C
♦ Printing order is: 1 st Design Printing, 2 nd Mirror ink printing, 3 rd Overprinting with MIB
♦ Use of MIB ink results in a brighter and scratch-free Mirror ink with no adhesion problems.
♦ Coverage is about 40 m2/kg at T-250 mesh.
Drying
♦ Heated drying is strongly recommended (more than 30 minutes at 80°C).
♦ Mirror Ink layer should be completely dried before overprinting with MIB ink, otherwise mirror surface may be tarnished.
Additives
♦ SM 257 Defoamer: Add up to 2% to avoid foaming or repelling or to improve leveling.
♦ 240 Catalyst: Add up to 10%. Pot life is 3-4 hours.

♦ Preliminary testing under actual conditions before a commercial run is strongly recommended.
Safety and Handling
♦ Use safety gloves and eyeglasses to protect skin and eyes. If the ink or coating comes in contact with skin, wash with soap and plenty of water. If ink comes in contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water and consult with a doctor.
♦ Containers should be closed tightly after use and stored in a cool, dark place. The MSDS for this product is available upon request. Please request a copy and read it carefully before handling materials. Follow instructions and use all ink products responsibly.
