FMX Screen Ink (Isophorone-free, One-pack Ink for Heated Forming)
FMX is an environment and human friendly screen ink that is free of benzene, toluene, xylene, and isophorone. Its flexible ink layer makes it suitable in heated forming applications. Suitable for heat and alcohol resistant fine line printing with superior resolubility and good adhesion to polycarbonate.
Application & Substrate
♦ Polycarbonate sheet and treated PET film
Special Features
♦ Suitable for heated forming
♦ Superior Alcohol and Heat resistance
♦ Superior PC adhesion
♦ Superior weather resistance
Thinning, Stirring, Cleaning
♦ Stir well before every use.
♦ Use G-002 (Standard) Thinner with 10-20% dilution. G-001 (Fast dry), G-003 (Retarder) and Z-705 (Extra Retarder) thinners are also available.
♦ Avoid excessive thinning and avoid using other solvents as this may cause lack of adhesion and blocking.
♦ G-002 Thinner or Screen Cleaner N is recommended to clean the stencil
♦ SM 40 Defoamer can be used 1-3% to improve leveling or to avoid foaming.
Printing
♦ T-200-T-300 Monofilament mesh is recommended. Coverage is 40 m2/kg at 250 mesh.
Gel Retarder
♦ Gel Retarder improves the printing quality of very fine lines, metallic inks, and transparent inks. Use Gel Retarder with 10-20% dilution by decreasing the amount of thinner.
Drying
♦ Tack free time is about 6-7 minutes at room temperature. (Conditions: G-002 Thinner, 15% dilution, PC substrate.)
♦ Drying time varies according to drying conditions such as room temperature, humidity, type of dryer, printed area, mesh of stencil, substrate, etc.
♦ Heated drying is recommended for 30 minutes at 80°C as residual solvent may cause blocking and damage protective laminate.
Caution
Adhesion test must be done at your site with actual substrate before commercial run. There may be a difference between substrates from different manufacturers, even from different batches. Migrated plasticizer and additives may cause lack of adhesion. Alcohol treatment may be effective to solve the adhesion problem.
Safety and Handling
Flammable; UN Classification: 3.3 UN Number: 1210
Use safety gloves and eyeglasses to protect skin and eyes. If the ink or coating comes in contact with skin, wash with soap and plenty of water. If ink comes in contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water and consult with a doctor. Containers should be closed tightly after use and stored in a cool, dark place. MSDS is available upon request. Please request a copy and read it carefully before handling materials. Follow instructions and use all ink products responsibly.
