GLS Screen Ink (Screen Printing Ink for Glass)

Teikoku GLS ink is a heat-dried ink designed for glass materials. It has good stability on stencil, adhesion and resistance properties and is appropriate for glass printing. This is an environmentally-friendly ink available in a wide variety of colors including metallic and pearl finish colors.

♦ Superior stability on the stencil and suitability for large area printing.
♦ Available in a wide range of colors.
♦ Wide applicability with superior adhesion to glass and good resistance.
♦ Environment- and human-friendly ink that is free of benzene, toluene, xylene, isophorone , and cyclohexanone.

♦ Stir well before every use.
♦ Use Z-705 thinner with 5-15% dilution for normal use.
♦ Avoid excessive thinning and avoid using other solvents as this may decrease printability and cause lack of adhesion.
♦ Add 0.5 parts of “GLS Glass Promoter” to 100 parts of ink and stir well. Catalyst is not needed.
♦ Pot life is about 6 hours at room temperature. After 6 hours, the ink does not become gelatinous but adhesion and resistance will decrease. Prepare only the quantity required.
♦ Screen Cleaner N is recommended to clean the stencil.

♦ 180-250 monofilament mesh is recommended as stencil.
♦ Coverage is about 35-40m²/kg on 250 mesh with 912 Black color and 30-35m²/kg with 611c Opaque White color.

♦ Heated drying for more than 30 minutes at 150°C is required to avoid insufficient adhesion and resistance.
♦ When dried at 230°C, at least 10 minutes drying time is required.
♦ For tack free dry in multi-layer printings, dry for 10 minutes at 80°C after printing each color, and make final drying for 30 minutes at 150°C.

♦ “GLS Glass Promoter” : 0.5% addition is required for adhesion.
♦ SM-40 Defoamer can be used 1-3% to improve leveling or to avoid foaming.
♦ Thixotropic agent can be used up to 2% to increase the viscosity. Stir well.

♦ Ink is stabile for 1 year from shipment.
♦ Adhesion and resistance should be tested and confirmed at your site under actual conditions before a commercial run.

Use safety gloves and eyeglasses to protect skin and eyes. If the ink or coating contacts the skin, wash with plenty of water and soap. In case of contact with the eyes, wash with plenty of water and consult with a doctor. Containers should be tightly closed immediately after use and stored in a dark and cool place.
