MRX Screen Ink (Isophorone free Two-Pack Ink for Hard Coated Surfaces)
MRX is an environment and human friendly screen ink that is free of benzene, toluene, xylene, and isophorone. Designed as a 2 pack ink for hard coated plastic surfaces, it is widely used for cover plates of cellular phones and handheld game consoles. Superior adhesion to hard-coated surfaces and good post-forming properties.

Special Features

Thinning, Stirring, Cleaning
♦ Stir well before every use.
♦ Z-004 (extra retarder) thinner is recommended for standard applications with 15-20% dilution.
G-001 (fast dry), G-002 (normal), G-003 (slow dry) thinners are also available.
♦ Avoid excessive thinning and avoid using other solvents as this may affect adhesion, curing, etc.
♦Screen Cleaner N is recommended to clean the stencil.
Catalyst Mixing
♦ 210 Catalyst is recommended for standard use.
♦ Add Isocyanate catalyst and mix well before use. Add 210 Catalyst 5 weight parts (6 weight parts for 000 Medium) to 100 parts of the ink and stir well. Pot life is 8 hours.
♦ 106 Catalyst is recommended for faster curing. Add 106 Catalyst 10 weight parts (11 weight parts for 000 Medium) to 100 parts of the ink and stir well. Pot life is 3 hours.
♦ Gelatinization may occur when pot-life expires. Please prepare required quantity only.
♦ Screen Cleaner N is recommended to clean the stencil.
Printing
♦ T180-T300 mesh monofilament screen is recommended as stencil.
♦ Coverage is 30-50 m2/kg at 250 mesh.
Drying
♦ Drying time is about 20-30 minutes at room temperature or 30 minutes at 80°C.
♦ Drying and adhesion of ink is affected by 1) drying temperature, 2) drying time, 3) grade and type of the substrate, and 4) treatment degree of substrate
♦ Heated air dry is required as insufficient drying may cause blocking. Start piling up only after confirming resistance of ink layer.
Additives:
♦ SM-40 Defoamer: 1-2% improves leveling, avoids foaming and repelling
♦ Thixotropic agent: 1-2% increases viscosity

♦ Ink is stabile for 1 year from shipping.
♦ Different substrates, processes, printings, and drying conditions may affect adhesion and resistance. Preliminary adhesion and resistance tests under actual conditions are strongly recommended before a commercial run.

Use safety gloves and eyeglasses to protect skin and eyes. If the ink or coating comes in contact with skin, wash with soap and plenty of water. If ink comes in contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water and consult with a doctor. Containers should be closed tightly after use and store in a cool, dark place. MSDS is available upon request. Please ask for a copy and read it carefully before handling materials. Follow instructions and use all ink products responsibly.
