PPE Screen Ink (One Pack Ink for Untreated and Treated Olefin)
Teikoku PPE is one pack, solvent-type screen printing ink with superior adhesion to treated and untreated Polyolefin (PP, etc.). PPE has superior oil/alcohol resistance and surface hardness.
Application
♦ Polyolefin-type materials (Untreated Polypropylene, Treated Polyethylene)
Special Features
♦ Superior adhesion to untreated polyolefin
♦ Satin finish and high surface hardness
♦ Low odor and good printability
♦ Superior ethanol and oil resistance
Thinning & Cleaning
♦ Stir well before every use.
♦ Use F-002 thinner with 10-20% dilution for standard applications. F-001 (fast dry), F-003 (slow dry) and F-004 (extra slow dry) are also available with the same dilution ratio.
♦ Avoid excessive thinning and avoid using other solvents as this may cause blocking and lack of adhesion.
♦ “Screen Cleaner N” or F-002 thinner are recommended to clean the stencil.
Printing
♦ T-225 – T-300 mesh monofilament screen is recommended as stencil.
♦ Coverage is about 50 m2 /kg at 270 mesh.
Drying
♦ Tack free drying time at room temperature is about 7-8 minutes at 15% thinning with
F-002. Cellophane tape, nail-resistant adhesion on treated Polyolefin is possible with 1-2 hours drying at room temperature. This takes more time if substrate is untreated polyolefin.
♦ Complete drying requires more than 20 minutes at 60°C, or more than 24 hours at room temperature. In case of multiple printing, heat drying should be done after the last print.
♦ Drying speed may vary depending on material differences, room temperature, printing amount, printing size, etc. Also pigment differences may affect adhesion. Please make preliminary drying test and adhesion test before a commercial run.
♦ Heat drying is strongly recommended for slow dry thinners.
Gel Retarder
♦ Gel Retarder improves ink flow through openings of stencil and improves printability.
Add up to 10-20%.

Caution
♦ PPE ink contains a hard resin, which makes it difficult to bend on flexible polyolefin.
♦ Adhesion test must be done at your site with actual substrate before a commercial run as quality of PP or PE substrates may differ depending on the manufacturer or even different batches from the same manufacturer.
♦ Corona or flame treatment improves adhesion to substrate.
♦ PPE ink is not suitable for outdoor applications.
Safety and Handling
Flammable Flashpoint: 67-68°C UN Class: Not included. UN No: Not included.
Use safety gloves and eyeglasses to protect skin and eyes. If the ink or coating comes in contact with skin, wash with soap and plenty of water. If ink comes in contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water and consult with a doctor. Containers should be closed tightly after use and stored in a cool, dark place. The MSDS for this product is available upon request. Please request a copy and read it carefully before handling materials. Follow instructions and use all ink products responsibly.
