Vol.137 2007.7
Teikoku ISX Screen Ink is a one pack, solvent-type insert molding ink without binder, with far superior elongation characteristics in comparison to previous insert molding inks.
ISX ink has good adhesion to Polycarbonate Sheet (PC), PC-type injection molding resins, and is suitable for Film Insert Molding (FIM) without an injection molding binder.
ISX demonstrates its true abilities in sheet forming processes such as pneumatic forming and vacuum forming. It is suitable for single-piece molded part production in a wide range of applications like automobile interiors, electronic nameplates, and daily commodities.
(1) Environmentality
Free of Benzene, Toluene, Xylene, Cyclohexanone, Isophorone and organic solvents listed in Japanese Industrial Safety and Health Law and PRTR. Also all composing materials are registered to TSCA of USA and EINECS of Europe.
(2) Superior Elongation
Follows the sheet until its limits during forming process with superior elongation characteristics.

ISX ink provides stabile product quality for PC resin forming or PC/ABS alloy resin forming with strong adhesion to injection molding resin without binder.
(3) UV OS Washout Prevention Clear(P), (S)
TeikokuInk developed UV type washout prevention ink, "UV OS Washout Prevention Clear(P),(S)" as a response to wash out problem occurring during injection.
In combination with newly developed ISX ink, UV OS Washout Prevention Clear allows wide range of mold designs.
Avoids wash out problem through printing only on wash out occurrence points.
UV ink product line up for pin gates and side gates are available.
*Can not be used on parts that will be elongated during forming.
Please contact to our sales representatives.
Allows FIM (Film Insert Molding) products with design printing to PC Sheet, treated PET film. Suitable for single-piece molded part production in a wide range of applications like automobile interiors, electronic home appliances.

Thinning
| * | Use Z-705 (Standard) thinner with 5~15% dilution according to printing conditions. 10% dilution is recommended for standard applications. |
| * | Avoid excessive thinning as it may decrease printability, forming suitability, and adhesion of the ink and may cause lack of opacity or pinholes. |
Printing
| * | T-200~270 mesh is recommended. |
| * | Coverage at 250 mesh is 35-40m2/kg. |
Drying/Curing
| * | Heated drying is required ; while tack-free time is 10 minutes at room temperature (25 °C ). |
| * | Initial drying time is approximately 3 minutes in a box dryer at 80°C; final drying time is 90 minutes in a box dryer at 90°C. Final drying is required for FIM applications. |
Curing, drying, and forming suitability may be affected by size of printed area, mesh, ink layer thickness, printing environment (temperature & humidity, etc.), dryer performance, etc. Also over-curing the lower layer, in multi layer printings, may cause lack of opacity. Adjust the drying conditions after confirming the preliminary drying test results under actual conditions.
In various forming processes such as vacuum forming, pneumatic forming and mold forming, or in the Film Insert Molding process (in which injected resin integrated with substrate), the finished product may be affected by any of the following: the type of substrate, the ink used in pattern printing, the printing conditions, the printing order, the drying method, the forming resin, the mold (type, position of the mold and shape, number of gates), the injection conditions, etc. Preliminary testing under actual conditions is strongly recommended before a commercial run.
For further detailed information about resistance please contact to sales representative.
Above mentioned results are for lab purposes only, cannot be guaranteed. Preliminary testing under actual conditions is strongly recommended before a commercial run.
