VK Screen Ink (High Weather Resistant Ink for Fleet Marking)

VK ink was designed to be used for PVC fleet marking of cars and motorcycles.  With overcoat clear varnish, superior weather resistance can be expected.

Substrate & Application

♦ Fleet markings
♦ PVC Stickers, polycarbonate, ABS etc.

Special Features

♦ Outstanding light and weather resistance.

♦ Excellent quality at high-speed printing.

Thinning

♦ Stir well before every use.
♦ Thin with J-002 Thinner up to 5-25% for normal use.  J-001 Fast Thinner, J-003 Retarder and J-004 Extra Retarder are available for different shop conditions.
♦ Z-603 solvent can be used for thinning, but sufficient drying is necessary to prevent residual solvent
♦ Other solvent should not be used to prevent blocking and inferior adhesion.

Printing & Cleaning

♦ Monofilament 180-270 mesh is suitable as stencil.  When using metallic colors, 180-225 mesh is recommended.
♦ Coverage at 200 mesh is 25-35 m2/kg.
♦ J-002 Thinner or "Screen Cleaner N" are recommended to clean the stencil.

Drying

60 minutes drying at room temperature or 1-2 minutes at 90-100°C in a forced air dryer will provide enough drying for over printing.  Residual solvent may cause inadequate weather resistance.  Complete drying of 30 minutes at 50-60°C is highly recommended.

SP 3100 AU Clear                Ultra high gloss and super weather resistance and faster dry.

Overcoat with these clears will provide excellent weather resistance.
Printing with 180-225 mesh stencil is recommended.

Application Tape Timing

When using application tape on the over-coated area, apply at designated time written under.
SP 62 AU Clear      : Apply after  1  hour seasoning, after 60 minutes at 60°C.
SP 2100 AU Clear  : Apply after 48 hours seasoning, after 60 minutes at 60°C.
SP 3100 AU Clear  : Apply after 15 hours seasoning, after 60 minutes at 60°C.

Caution

Adhesion testing must be done at your site with actual substrate before commercial run.  There may be a big difference between substrates of different manufacturers and even different batches of substrate from the same supplier.

Safety and Handling

Flammable.   UN Class : 3.3        UN Number: 1210  Contains 50-60 % Cyclohexanone.
